MEDICATION FOR FEVER
Acetaminophen (Tylenol, Feverall) and Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) can be used to reduce fever and discomfort in children. Please do not use aspirin unless you are directed to do so by your childs doctor. If your child’s fever or pain return before the next dose of one medication can be given, you may alternate between them every 3 hours. (For example give ibuprofen at noon, acetaminophen at 3pm, ibuprofen at 6pm and so on...) These medications can be used along with antibiotics and are very safe medications in otherwise healthy children. Please call and check that your child may safely use medication if they have a chronic health condition or you have a specific concern.
